A Public Christian Library

The St. Edward Reading Room is an Orthodox Christian public library serving both the parish of Saint Euphemia Orthodox Christian Church and the wider Midcoast community. Our library exists to support prayer, study, and theological formation through carefully curated Orthodox texts, music, and educational resources.

Become a Patron

Library cards are available to patrons of the Reading Room and allow for extended reading through book loans from our general collection. Card holders also receive invitations to future reading groups, lectures, workshops, and seminars hosted through the St. Edward space.

The library houses a Special Collection of rare and out-of-print Orthodox publications, including historic Russian and Greek liturgical and theological texts. These materials are preserved for in-house reading and scholarly consultation, offering visitors a unique opportunity to engage with older and hard-to-find works.
